The Wingback Chair and Ottoman Cover Set

What this set is

This is a slipcover set for a wingback chair and an ottoman. The fabric is a stretch polyester jacquard at about 200 gsm. It has a soft knit hand and a subtle woven pattern that reads as texture, not print. The anti-slip backing helps hold the cover in place on the chair and the ottoman.

The chair cover wraps the whole chair: back, arms, wings and seat. The ottoman cover pulls over the top and sides. The 3-piece set also includes a cushion cover for the seat cushion.

This set is not waterproof. It is a soft cover for everyday use in a living room, bedroom or home office.

Sizes and fit

The chair cover fits wingback chairs within these ranges. The ottoman cover fits ottomans within these ranges.

Measure your chair and ottoman before you order. The stretch fabric has some give, but the ranges above are the fit window. A chair with a wide skirt or a fixed cushion may sit outside the range.

Colors and pack options

Pick a color and a pack size.

Colors: Mustard yellow, Gray, Beige, Cream, Black, Mint green, Light blue, Dark green, Dusty pink, Teal, Off-white, Brown, Burgundy, Navy, Camel, Dark blue.

Packs:

• 2-piece set: 1 chair cover and 1 ottoman cover
• 3-piece set: 1 chair cover, 1 ottoman cover and 1 cushion cover

If you want the seat cushion covered too, choose the 3-piece set. If your chair has a fixed cushion, the 2-piece set is the simpler pick.

How to put it on

Start with the chair cover. Find the back of the cover and pull it over the back of the chair first. Work the fabric down over the wings and arms. Tuck the front edge into the seat gap so the cover sits flat.

Next, pull the ottoman cover over the top and press it down the sides. Smooth the fabric with your hands as you go. The anti-slip backing does the rest.

For the cushion cover in the 3-piece set, slide the cushion inside and close the opening. Smooth out any folds.

A few notes:

• The cover is not waterproof, so wipe spills right away.
• Sharp edges or pet claws can snag the knit. Keep the cover clear of both.
• If the cover looks loose, check that the chair is inside the fit range above.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Wash the chair cover and the ottoman cover together so the color stays even. Skip bleach and skip high heat, which can dull the jacquard pattern and shrink the stretch.

For small marks between washes, spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let the cover air dry.

Why a jacquard knit

Jacquard knit gives the cover a raised, woven look without a print. The pattern is part of the fabric, so it does not crack or peel over time. The polyester knit stretches in both directions, which is what lets one cover follow the curves of a wingback chair and still look fitted at the seat.

At about 200 gsm, the fabric has enough body to sit smooth on the chair but stays light enough to wash at home. It works over a worn chair, a hand-me-down ottoman or a chair you simply want to refresh for the season.
