The Leaf Jacquard Tub Chair Cover

What it is and how it feels

The Leaf Jacquard Tub Chair Cover is a single piece stretch cover made to wrap a tub chair from top to bottom. The fabric is a polyester jacquard at about 200 gsm, with a soft velvet plush hand and a large raised leaf pattern woven through it. It is 100 percent polyester.

The cover is all inclusive by design. It pulls down over the back, over both arms and around the seat, so the chair reads as one smooth shape rather than a loose throw. Four foam sticks tuck into the seams to hold the fabric in place at the seat and keep the lines neat.

This is a chair slipcover for a tub chair, also called a club chair or a single seat accent chair. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, home offices and reading corners. It is not waterproof, so treat it as a soft fabric cover rather than a spill barrier.

Sizes and fit

The cover comes in one size and fits tub chairs 25.5 to 29 in (66 to 74 cm) wide, measured arm to arm. Seat depth fits up to 21.5 in (55 cm).

Measure your chair across the outside of the arms before you order. If your chair falls inside that range, the stretch fabric will follow the curve of the back and the shape of the arms. If it falls outside, the cover will either pull too tight or sit loose. One cover fits one tub chair.

Colors

The cover comes in seven colors: Beige, dark gray, light green, black, light gray, dark brown and gray. The leaf pattern is woven into the fabric, so it stays visible in every color and shifts with the light as the plush pile moves. Beige, light gray and light green keep a room bright and soft. Black, dark gray, gray and dark brown ground a space and hide everyday marks well.

How to put it on

1. Set the chair upright and find the back of the cover, which is the taller side.
2. Pull the cover over the back of the chair first, then over both arms.
3. Work the fabric down around the seat and smooth it with your hands.
4. Push the four foam sticks into the gap between the seat and the arms and back, one on each side, to lock the cover in place.
5. Tuck any extra fabric into the seams so the surface sits flat.

The stretch jacquard moves with the chair, so you can adjust it without forcing it. Take a minute to smooth the leaf pattern straight across the seat and the arms for a fitted look. The cover also helps protect the chair from everyday dust, crumbs and pet hair, which makes it a practical pick for a chair that gets daily use.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle, then air dry. Do not wring the fabric hard, and keep it out of a hot dryer to protect the plush pile and the stretch. Smooth the cover back onto the chair while it is still slightly damp so it settles into the shape of the arms and back. Wash it on its own or with similar colors. A quick shake before drying keeps the leaf pattern from creasing.
