The Leaf Jacquard Stretch Sofa Cover

A raised leaf pattern

The fabric is a polyester jacquard knit with a large leaf pattern woven into it, so the leaves stand out in a slightly raised texture rather than being printed on top. The pattern is tone on tone, which gives the sofa a rich, upholstered look from across the room and hides creases, pet hair and everyday marks better than a flat knit. At around 180 gsm the fabric has a soft, substantial feel and plenty of stretch.

Sizes

Measure your sofa across the front, from the outside of one arm to the outside of the other. If it falls between the two sizes, choose the larger one: the extra fabric tucks into the gaps around the seat.

For an L-shaped sectional, use two covers, one for each side. Measure each side separately and choose the size for each.

Colors

Three colors: Charcoal, Mocha and Camel. Charcoal is a deep gray that suits modern rooms and hides wear best. Mocha is a warm mid brown that looks good with wood floors and leather. Camel is a light, warm tan that brightens a dark room.

Fitting it

Start at the back. Pull the cover over the top of the back, then down over both arms, and smooth it across the seat. Push the extra fabric deep into the gaps between the seat and the back and arms; that's what keeps the cover tight and stops it from creeping. If you can, tip the sofa onto its back and fasten the elastic straps underneath. If your sofa has loose seat cushions, put them back on top of the cover.

Washing and care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own or with similar colors. Skip bleach and fabric softener. Hang it to dry or tumble dry on low, and put it back on while it's still slightly damp so it settles into the shape of the sofa. No ironing needed.
