What it is and how it feels

This dining chair cover is made from stretch polyester knit velvet, about 180 gsm. The fabric has a soft brushed surface with a slight sheen, so it catches the light without looking shiny. It is 100 percent polyester and knit to stretch in all directions.

The cover slips over the whole chair back and seat. The stretch lets it pull tight and stay smooth, so it reads as an upholstered chair rather than a loose cloth. One cover fits one chair.

Measure your chair at the widest points. If your chair sits near the top of a range, the velvet will still stretch, but it will feel snugger. If your chair is outside these ranges, this cover is not the right fit.

Colors

The cover comes in 13 colors: Beige gray, Beige, Camel, Dark gray, White milk, Black, Light gray, Turquoise blue, Dark green, Sunset orange, Navy, Gold and Royal blue.

The neutrals, like Beige gray, Beige, White milk, Light gray, Dark gray and Black, blend with most dining rooms. Camel, Navy and Dark green add depth without shouting. Turquoise blue, Sunset orange, Gold and Royal blue are the brighter picks, useful when you want the chairs to carry the room.

How to put it on

Start with the chair back. Pull the cover down over the top and work it into place, then smooth the fabric down the front and back. Next, pull the seat section over the front edge and tuck it around the seat cushion. The knit holds itself in place, so you can adjust it by hand until the seams sit straight.

For a cleaner line, push the extra fabric toward the back of the seat and under the cushion. The cover works on most standard dining chairs, including chairs with a separate seat cushion and a solid back. It also suits chairs used at a desk, in a home office or at a small table.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry. Do not use bleach or high heat, which can dull the brushed finish. Most light creases fall out as the fabric relaxes on the chair.
