The Waterproof L-Shape Sectional Cover

What this cover is

This is a single-piece cover made for L-shaped and V-shaped sectional sofas. The fabric is 100% polyester with a waterproof coated weave, so rain and spills sit on the surface instead of soaking through. The finish is smooth and matte, which keeps the look plain and lets the cover blend into a patio, deck or sunroom.

The cover is not stretchy. It is cut to the shape of your sofa, so the fit depends on ordering the right size and the right chaise side. It works on outdoor sectionals and on indoor sectionals in rooms where a little extra protection helps.

Sizes

Pick the size that matches your sofa's full outside dimensions, measured across the whole frame. The numbers below follow the shape of the cover: some sizes list four measurements, others list five, depending on how the sectional is built.

If your sofa sits between two sizes, size up rather than down. A cover that is slightly loose still drapes over the arms and back, while a cover that is too small will pull at the corners.

Color

This cover comes in Black. Black hides dust, leaf litter and everyday marks well, and it reads as a clean, neutral shape on a patio. It suits dark rattan, metal frames and wood, and it stays quiet against plants and outdoor rugs.

How to fit it

Order the side for your chaise as you face the couch. If the chaise extends to your left when you stand in front of the sofa, choose the left option. If it extends to your right, choose the right option. This matters because the cover is cut to follow the chaise, and the wrong side will not line up.

Measure your sofa's full outside dimensions before you order. Include the arms and the back in the width and depth, and measure the chaise from the back of the sofa to the front edge. Then lay the cover over the back first, pull it down over the arms, and work it along the chaise. Smooth the fabric with your hands as you go. The matte weave slides over most frames without snagging, and the coated back helps it stay in place once it is settled.

For an indoor sectional, the same steps apply. Take cushions off if that makes the corners easier to reach, then put them back once the cover is in place.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle, then air dry. Skip the dryer, since heat can stress the waterproof coating. Wash it on its own or with similar dark items, and close any zippers or hooks on nearby laundry first. For light dust, a quick shake or a wipe with a damp cloth is often enough between washes. Store it folded in a dry spot when the season changes.
