Light, breathable and soft
Muslin is a loosely woven cotton, and on its own a single layer is almost sheer. Six layers stitched together make a throw with real substance that still lets air move through it, so it takes the chill off without trapping heat. That makes it the throw for summer evenings, air-conditioned rooms, nap time on the sofa and anyone who sleeps hot and finds fleece too much.
The layers pucker gently between the stitch lines, which gives muslin its crinkled, lived-in look. Wrinkles are part of the fabric, so it never needs ironing. Cotton muslin also gets softer the more you wash it, so the throw you have in a year will feel better than the one that arrives.

The standard US throw is 50 x 60 in (127 x 152 cm), so the smaller size is right on it. The larger size is close to the 60 x 80 in oversized throw and long enough to lie down under.
